Buffalo St.Patty’s Day

Buffalo St.Patty's Day

While March 17th is the official St.Patty’s Day, March 15th is the day attend in Buffalo if you want the bigger crowd.

March 15th, 2009 is the Buffalo St.Patrick’s Parade.

The St. Patrick’s Parade runs down Delaware Avenue.  It starts somewhere downtown, runs North and ends approximately at North Street.

Why do we say “starts somewhere downtown”?  Well our hooligan friends always Irish bushwack us in the proximity of Colter Bay and the corner Gas Station/Deli.  Needless to say we have never made it to the parade’s starting point.

While to the best of our knowledge, there are no changes to the open container laws on parade day, these laws seem to be overlooked.  Every place along the parade route you’ll find numerous people drinking both kinds of beer (green beer and regular).  You’ll also find numerous people with shopping carts more than willing to take your empties for recycling.

So mark the date, plan your pre-parade parties and dust off your best green attire.  It’s time to get you parade on!
