The R & L Lounge

I fancy myself as an “Urban Explorer” with a never ending love for this great city of ours. If you’re reading this post, than you’re probably a lot like me. A couples years back I discovered one of Buffalo’s greatest hidden gems, tucked away on the eastside within walking distance from the Broadway Market. It’s called the R & L lounge. It’s simple – The “R” stands for Ronnie and the “L” stands for Lottie and “R” and “L” are two of the nicest people you will ever meet in this city or any other. In addition to that, Lottie is a fantastic cook serving up fish fries, pierogies and other Polish specialties. Next May they will be celebrating their 40th year in business. (That’s pretty impressive for any business, let alone one located on Buffalo’s struggling eastside.) If you get the chance, stop in, have a beer and a bite and tell them that the “Holland Boys” sent ya. (Don’t go too late. They close when the crowd dies down.)
(Located at 23 Mills Street just off Broadway)

Stopped there yesterday with a few friends for the first time and we had a great lunch and wonderful conversations with Lottie and Ron. Airborne Eddie even stopped in to check on Ronnie and Lottie
