Ok, don’t get carried away by the name.  Lesbian Pizza is my personal nickname for a newer pizza place on Main Street between Roxy’s and the old Miss Kitty’s. (hence the nickname)

When I first heard of a new pizza place on Main I instinctually thought of a little local dive joint that served pizzas by the sheet and PBR’s by the bucket.  Campieri’s is anything but.

Campieri’s is not a fine dining establishment and it’s not just a typical corner pizza shop.  There’s no liquor (which actually wouldn’t fit any way) but there is plenty of wine and beer.  When we went there was Flying Bison Scotch Ale, Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald, Magic Hat #9, Sam Adams Winter Lager (my fave), Anchor Steam, Longtrail Hibernator, McSorley’s and Shock Top on draft.  Many more were in the beer cooler.  We didn’t mix beer and wine this time though.

We couldn’t help but sample the pizza as well.  To give it a fair chance we just did the typical cheese and pepperoni.  It’s rare to find a pizza place cook their pizza to perfection which in my opinion is well done.  You can tell it’s well done when the edges of the pepperoni are dark.  This almost guarantees a pizza that is crispy and chewy, cheesy and hot!

Campieri’s is locate at 888 Main Street not far from Roswell Park campus.  We give them 2 thumbs up and have been back 2 times already since we took the original photos a couple Fridays ago.

Tangent: This area is looking better and better.  With UB choosing to move it’s medical campus to the area, things will only improve.
