Charlie, donation boxes and reminders could get much more money. Larger cups for a few bucks more, or better food. If they want to take the easy way out, that fine.

The main concern however is the sliding ticket price. It’s a kind of gouging. We suggest they pick a price and stick to it.

With Mash Bash you get free food and drinks all night long, although the crowd is much more intense there (and sweaty). It’s a fantastic summer event!

Is the Disco worth $50 plus food and drinks? Quite possibly! However, what’s with the sliding scale? It “comes off” more as price gouging. Pick a price and stick to it. Last year it was $25. Does a year constitute a 100% price increase?

The promoters don’t need to come up with more creative ways to fundraise, they did several years ago with one of the best parties around. The fact that it sells out means that enough “lower income” Buffaloians are willing to donate a little extra money to a great charity for an awesome night of partying. The initial sticker shock might be much, but be realistic, what is $15 over the course of a year when it goes to charity. Pass on a night out at Jim’s Steak Out, and you have saved yourself the gut-bomb and helped some deserving kids at the same time. Lets get realistic.

You obviously got the the same mailing that I did and it explained the reason for the price increase(make more money for the charity and try to stop scalping). When I read mine, it didn’t say anything about excluding anyone, important or not. The next closest event in nature to The Disco is The Mash Bash…wanna guess what they charge their 7000 guests??? $50 ! The best part is that this site( Hot Buffalo) is sponsored by TicketsNow(top left of your webpage). They are selling the disco’s $50 ticket for $134. Now who should be “fixing” the ticket price….take a look in the mirror!
