What the hell is Dyngus Day?
By Me on Tuesday, April 18, 2006
I celebrated my first Dyngus Day yesterday. Dyngus Day, or Easter Monday, is the Monday immediately following Easter Sunday. My celebration was at the Hearthstone Manor. Although they did not allow squirt guns (which I’m still not sure how they fit in), there where plenty of pussywillows to go around.
In simplest terms Dyngus Day consists of Beer, Polka and older Polish ladies trying to get you to date their daughters. Dyngus day is a Polish custom that rivals St.Patty’s day in Buffalo, New York.
Dyngus Day marks the end of Lent dating all the way back to 966 AD.
